Introduction:
Washington:
As part of the Thrive in Deep Space (TIDES) program, the US space agency has awarded scientists 2.3 million dollars to further their research into growing plants on lunar soil.
The program's ultimate goal is to enable long-duration space missions and improve life on Earth, the agency stated in a statement.
Research based on space biology will enable the study of environmental effects on model organisms in spaceflight and will also provide important information that will enable better space research.
